Energy Efficiency

Alternative energy refers to energy sources which are not based on the burning of fossil fuels or the splitting of atoms. Not only do they protect against harmful by-products, but using alternative energy helps to preserve many of the natural resources that we currently use as sources of energy. This green labels are different but they mean the same like please recycle help reduce trash and throw the trash in the trashcan.

Energy efficiency means using less energy to accomplish the same task. The idea is to eventually reduce our energy consumption and demands without diminishing our quality of life. Becoming more energy efficient will save you money, reduce pollution and ease energy demands within the economy. Efficient energy use, sometimes simply called energy efficiency, is the goal of efforts to reduce the amount of energy required to provide products and services.  An appliance receives the Energy Star® rating if it is significantly more energy.
The amount by which an appliance must exceed the minimum standards is different for each product rated, and depends on available technology. Energy Star® rated products are always among the most efficient available today.
For example, insulating a home allows a building to use less heating and cooling energy to achieve and maintain a comfortable temperature. Installing fluorescent lights or natural skylights reduces the amount of energy required to attain the same level of illumination compared with using traditional incandescent light bulbs.
There are various motivations to improve energy efficiency. Reducing energy use reduces energy costs and may result in a financial cost saving to consumers if the energy savings offset any additional costs of implementing an energy efficient technology. Reducing energy use is also seen as a solution to the problem of reducing emissions.
